What I miss: With all this warm weather I've been missing sipping cold, draft Miller Lights with Jep!
Cravings: Anything spicy
Aversions: None
Symptoms: I'm in Nesting-mode, does that count as a symptom?
Highlights from this week: Purchasing and putting together her crib and hearing her heartbeat yet again at my doctor's appointment (never gets old!)

The Auburn Family was hit with some very sad news on Wednesday. It was announced that the beautiful 130 year oak trees on Toomer's Corner were poisoned with a very lethal dose of herbicide by a jealous 62 year old man claiming to be an Alabama fan. "Al", as he referred to himself, poisoned the trees after Auburn made a huge comeback and beat Alabama in the Iron Bowl. The Auburn/Alabama rivalry is a fierce one but this takes the rivalry to a whole new level!! For all my friends and family not familiar with the trees at Toomer's Corner-- one of Auburn's most cherished traditions is rolling the great big oak trees with toilet paper after an Auburn victory. I have so many awesome memories of rolling those trees and it's absolutely heart-breaking that the trees are likely not going to survive.

The little story below was posted by someone on Facebook. I loved it and thought it really showed the TRUE Auburn Spirit.

And The Whos Kept On Singing

"And the toilet paper, the trunk, the branches and leaves, I'll bring it all down with poisoned disease. Their mouths will hang open a minute or two, all the fans down in Auburn will all cry BOO-HOO! That's a noise," grinned "Al" from Dadeville, "That I simply must hear!" So he paused. And the Grinch called "Al" put a hand to his ear. And he did hear a sound rising over the Plains. It started in low. Then it started to grow... But the sound wasn't sad! Why, this sound sounded merry! It couldn't be so! But it WAS merry! VERY! He stared down at Auburn! "Al" popped his eyes! Then he shook! What he saw was a shocking surprise! Every Tiger down in Auburn, the tall and the small, were still celebrating without any trees at all! He HADN'T stopped the Auburn Spirit from coming! IT CAME! Somehow or other, it came just the same! And the Grinch called "Al" stood puzzling and puzzling: "How could it be so? It came without paper or shakers or trees, it came without all these things indeed. And he puzzled three hours, `till his puzzler was sore. Then "Al" the Grinch thought of something he hadn't before! "Maybe Auburn's spirit" he thought, "means a bit more!" And what happened then...? Well...in Auburn they say that "Al" the Grinch's small heart hopefully grew three sizes that day, after of course, they locked him away!"

Total Weight Gained/Lost: ??
Maternity Clothes: Purchased some work pants from Motherhood and just started wearing them this week.

A Dread Update

Just a little update on our first born.... :)

Dread had his third round of chemo this afternoon. One more to go!!! And, if he's all clear after the fourth round we can stop with the treatments!

While Dread was there for his treatment we also asked for the doctor to take a look at an area that Jep and I had become a little concerned about. Jep would probably tell you I was A LOT concerned about. We recently noticed a growth in the same area on Dread's side where the tumor was removed. I, of course, being the worrier that I am automatically thought the tumor was back. So, of course at this appointment we made a point that Dr. L take a look at the area. Well, Dr. L did an ultrasound and is pretty positive that it is just some scar tissue and not a sarcoma. He said everything looked good and Dread appeared to look great! This was such a relief and we are so happy to hear this news. Dr. L also gave us some left over samples of Palladia--a somewhat new anti-cancer drug for dogs. We are trying to attack this thing from all angles to make sure no cancer comes back.

So overall, it was a great appointment and we are so relieved to hear more good news about our little guy's health. Thanks so much everyone for the prayers and support. It means so, so much to us!

Half Way There!

How Far Along: 20 weeks
Size of baby: Cantaloupe!
Total Weight Gained/Lost: Around 8 pounds, I think. We don't own a scale so I really only get weighed at my doctor appointments. And, I think my last weigh-in was a little off because I had guzzled close to 30 ounces of water for my big ultrasound.
Maternity Clothes: Still have been able to fit in most of my pants and tops but I'm getting ready to move onto investing in some maternity clothes, especially pants. I do have to say that I've been loving my maternity jeggings I got for Christmas--SO COMFY!
Gender: Sweet baby girl! Stay tuned for the big announcement of her name!! :)
Movement: At my last appointment I was told that I have an anterior placenta so it may take a little longer for me to feel her moving around in there. However, the past week or so I've really started feeling some major movements.
Sleep: Still sleeping like a baby! I love my sleep! I do have some crazy dreams though.
What I miss: I'd have to say my red wine.
Cravings: I started out craving sweets--hot chocolate and ice cream sandwiches were my go-to snacks. And, I'd say the sweet craving is still going strong. I also really crave Mexican food especially the shredded beef quesadilla from our favorite Mexican restaurant.
Aversions: Haven't really had any major aversions.
Symptoms: Slowly growing in size and starting to feel some real movements going on. Oh, and I've also been eating a lot more than I used to! :)
