Cabinets, Countertops, Tile, Oh-My!

It seems like all our weekends consist of these days is house stuff! Today we spent pretty much ALL day at the house trying to figure out what color to paint the exterior of the back doors and Jep meeting with sub-contractors. I'd say we BOTH were pretty busy- but I'd be lying! I spent most of the day lounging in a chair in my dirt backyard supervising Jep's painting job-he probably loves the days I'm at work and not there to inform him that he missed a spot. :)

Below are a few of our latest pictures! We recently got our kitchen and bathroom cabinets and countertops installed. Tile is currently being laid in the bathrooms as well as the kitchen backsplash and around the fireplace, we are having copper flashing installed on the exterior of the house, and we are getting ready for plumbing.

Along with the excitement of building a house comes STRESS!!! Bless Jep's heart...he's been pouring his heart into getting our house completed and some days has been waking up at 3 or 4 a.m. thinking about the house....

Yesterday was a bad day- Jep had to fire one of his biggest sub-contractors for lack of performance. And then, on top of losing his main guy another sub made a BIG mistake in our guest bathroom. He misunderstood Jep's directions and tiled the bathroom walls up 7 feet. (Jep instructed him to tile the SHOWER 7 feet.) So, he had to have his guys tear down the misplaced tile and now the walls have to be resanded and repainted!!

We just keep reminding ourselves that it will all be worth it in the end!!!
