Sunday

What a great little Sunday we had!  This particular Sunday we attended the church where Lilah attends school. The service was extra special because the staff of the Center was being recognized. We were happy to attend to show our appreciation for the amazing teachers and administrators of Highlands CDC!

.

Earlier I posted about the Storybook Carnival which was the Center's spring fundraiser. Part of the fundraiser included a silent auction that benefited the enrichment programs (Spanish, Music, etc.).  The auction ended after Sunday's service. There were awesome packages to bid on. Packages that included week long vacations at mountain homes, beach condos, massages, parents' night out with free babysitting, McWane Science Center yearly membership, etc.

While all of the above were tempting to bid on....
I had my eye on this little beauty!

Good Night Moon-2012 Tiny Tulips
A beautiful painting created by the 2012 Tiny Tulip class. If you look closely, you'll notice each child's footprint is inside of the moon. How precious!! I just had to have this! So, I battled it out with one other mom and a grandmother of Lilah's classmates. I stressed about this for days, hoping I would win. Thankfully, I did!!! This sweet, little keepsake is now hanging in Lilah's nursery.

Storybook Carnival!

Prepare yourself for cuteness and picture overload!

Last night was the Storybook Carnival at Lilah's school. All the kids were asked to dress up as their favorite storybook character.  Lilah choose to dress up as Fancy Lilah (spin off of "Fancy Nancy") and I was Fancy Mama.  Jep was non-fancy Papa. He chose not to partake in the dressing up part of the festivities. :)

Fancy Lilah with one of her favorite teachers, Ms. Brenda. Lilah just LOVES Ms. Brenda!! It is so cute how her face lights up when she sees her.

...I have the best coworkers anyone can ask for!

During our lunch hour, we had a little craft get-together. We were able to whip up three tutus in an hour's time!

Happy Earth Day!

In honor of Earth Day, Lilah's class was asked to wear green. We had a photo shoot this morning because she looked too cute in her green attire. I know the pictures are a little excessive but I couldn't pick out my favorite.  And, they are even sweeter because she is laughing and smiling at her Papa in all of these. Whenever I need to get Lilah to smile for pictures, I have to get Jep to stand behind me. She just loves her Papa!

Honky Tonk Baby!

Lilah had her very first trip to the Music City this past weekend! Baby girl and I loaded up for a road trip to Nashville to meet Grammy for a weekend of fun.  And, what fun we had!

We arrived to the hotel on Friday afternoon and immediately headed out to the Broadway strip.

This little girl was so excited! I just knew she'd love all the hustle and bustle. She is such a people watcher like her mama and Grammy!

After some strolling, we stopped for a late lunch at Cadillac Ranch.  This is where Lilah had her very first taste of fried pickles. :)  She loved them! She's a girl after my own heart.

After we enjoyed lunch and live music on the patio it was onto our next stop...Boot Country!

We just couldn't pass up the deal of Buy 1 pair, get 2 pairs FREE!! So, we got our stylish little sister a pair in every color!

When we booked our trip, we didn't realize that the Nashville Predators would be playing in the playoffs. This also made for some good crowd watching. We spent a good bit of time outside of the stadium watching all of the hockey festivities. Hockey fans are pretty crazy so again, this made for some good people watching! :)

This picture of Lilah by herself outside of the hockey stadium cracks me up.I don't know why. I guess it is because it looks like she is all by herself without anyone watching her. You'll notice Grammy's hand off to the right side...so she wasn't too far in case someone tried to run off with a cute baby! :)

Later that evening, we hopped on over to another cute little bar to listen to some more music. Things got really crazy when we pulled out the "Here Comes Peter Cottontail" book. Shortly after this picture was taken, we called it a night. All the crazies were starting to come out and our little one was getting ready for her bedtime.

We woke up to a cold, rainy Saturday.  Since it was a little too cold to spend time outside...we did what we do best. SHOP!  We headed to the Opry Mills mall. Love, love, love that mall!! There will definitely be more trips in the future.

Saturday evening we headed back out onto Broadway for a little more honky tonkin'.  I use that term very loosely because we had a 10 month in tow! :)

Sweet girl was definitely a hit at this place. She flirted with a table full of 40 year men. The guys were loving it!

We tried to get our picture taken with Elvis but she was having none of it.

On Sunday, we made a quick stop to visit our Auntie El! So good to see you!! Hope to see you again soon!

And...here we are back home in some of our new Nashville gear.

We also came home to this!

Papa was hard at work building us a raised garden while we were away on our girls trip. He's the best!!
Can't wait to have some fresh veggies this summer! He planted cherry tomatoes, okra, lettuce, carrots, cucumbers, regular tomatoes, and onions.
